Mankind Pharma, the fifth largest Indian drug maker by market share, plans to hire 2,000 medical representatives over the next five years to take on competitors such as Abbott India, Cipla, Sun Pharma and Zydus Cadila. "Mankind has the highest field force in the industry as we target to capture every nook and corner of the country. Currently, we have 10,000 medical representatives (MRs). We plan to increase it to 12,000 in the coming five years," said Sheetal Arora, managing director, Mankind Pharma. In the latest round of hiring, during October-January, the company hired 2,000 MRs.
