Mankind Pharma plans unit in Himachal

Mankind Pharma plans to set up a facility at Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh, entailing an investment of Rs 100 crore. The US FDA compliant plant will manufacture soft gel capsules, ointments and liquid solutions, and is likely to commission by March 2011. The company is also setting up a research and development unit with an investment of Rs 25 crore at Manesar in Gurgaon. Mankind also plans to add mosquito repellent, shoe polish and shaving cream to its portfolio by next financial year.
