Digestive health is one of the most prevalent and undertreated healthcare challenges in India. From acid reflux and indigestion to constipation and irritable bowel symptoms, gastrointestinal (GI) disorders affect hundreds of millions of people annually. According to a longitudinal aging study in India 2017–18, the overall prevalence of self-reported gastrointestinal problems was 18%, making accessible and affordable treatment options a public health priority.

Mankind Pharma, one of India’s most prescribed pharmaceutical companies, has built a formidable presence in this space. With a portfolio of 500+ products spanning acute and chronic therapeutic areas, Mankind Pharma products address digestive and gastrointestinal concerns through both prescription formulations and over-the-counter (OTC) consumer healthcare brands. The Gastrointestinal (GI) segment constitutes 10% of the company’s domestic formulation sales — a meaningful share that underscores its strategic importance within the Mankind company products list.

Mankind Pharma: A Foundation Built on Accessibility

Before examining individual products, it is worth understanding the philosophy that shapes the Mankind company products list. Headquartered in New Delhi, Mankind Pharma is driven by three core values: quality, affordability, and accessibility. The company maintains one of the highest coverage networks in Tier II through Tier IV cities and rural markets — a distribution advantage that ensures gastro medicines reach patients who may otherwise have limited access to specialist care.

The company’s consumer healthcare entity, Mankind Consumer Products Private Limited, has operated since 2007 and has extended this mission into the OTC space, building trusted digestive care brands that millions of Indians rely upon.

Key Prescription Gastro & Digestive Products

  1. Pantakind (Pantoprazole Sodium Salt)

Pantakind is one of the flagship Mankind pharma products in the gastroenterology segment. It contains Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) widely prescribed for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is available in multiple formulations:

  • Pantakind — Pantoprazole Sodium Salt (standard formulation)
  • Pantakind-DSR — Pantoprazole + Domperidone, combining acid suppression with a prokinetic agent  improved symptom relief in patients with associated dysmotility.
  • Pantakind-Flux — Pantoprazole Magnesium Salt + Cinitapride Bitartrate, offering a dual-action approach for patients requiring both acid control and gut motility improvement

Avoid taking Pantakind Tablet if you are allergic to Pantakind Tablet or have any history of gastric cancer, liver disease, low magnesium levels, or low vitamin B1.

Domperidone carries dose-dependent QT-prolongation risk, especially >30 mg/day or in older patients

  1. Rabekind (Rabeprazole Sodium Salt)

Rabekind is another widely utilised PPI brand within the Mankind Pharma gastro portfolio. Rabeprazole is often favoured for its rapid onset of acid suppression. The Rabekind range includes:

  • Rabekind — Rabeprazole Sodium Salt (standard)
  • Rabekind-DSR — Rabeprazole + Domperidone, addressing both acid reflux and nausea/gastroparesis
  • Rabekind-Plus — Rabeprazole + Levosulpiride, combining acid control with a prokinetic agent that also helps in functional dyspepsia

Do not take Rabekind if you are allergic to Rabeprazole or any of its ingredients or have any history of gastric cancer, liver disease, low magnesium levels, or low vitamin B1

  1. Oskar (Omeprazole) and Somifiz (Esomeprazole)

Mankind Pharma covers the full PPI spectrum within its Mankind company products list. Oskar (Omeprazole) and its combination variant Oskar-DSR (Omeprazole + Domperidone) represent accessible first-line options for acid-related disorders. Somifiz (Esomeprazole), the S-isomer of Omeprazole, is available as Somifiz and Somifiz-L (Esomeprazole + Levosulpiride), catering to patients requiring enhanced acid suppression.

Do not take Oskar 20 mg Tablet if you are allergic to any of its components, other proton pump inhibitors, or if you are taking medications for HIV such as nelfinavir.

Inform your doctor if you have stomach or intestinal cancer, severe liver problems, difficulty swallowing, bloody or black stools, unexplained weight loss, hypomagnesemia (low blood magnesium levels), stomach problems (such as pain or indigestion), or will have an endoscopy in the future.

Avoid taking Somifiz Tablet if you are allergic to it or have any history of gastric cancer, liver disease, low magnesium levels, or low vitamin B1.

  1. Ranidom Range (Antacid and Prokinetic Combinations)

The Ranidom range represents Mankind Pharma’s most comprehensive antacid and prokinetic portfolio. Key formulations include:

  • Ranidom-MPS — Magaldrate + Simeticone, a classic antacid combination for instant relief
  • Ranidom — Domperidone Maleate + Magaldrate + Simeticone, combining antacid action with gut motility support
  • Ranidom-O — Magaldrate + Oxetacaine + Simeticone, offering local anaesthetic action alongside antacid relief, particularly useful in oesophagitis and gastritis
  • Ranidom-RD / Ranidom-O RF — Domperidone + Esomeprazole Magnesium Salt, a more advanced combination for chronic reflux management

Avoid taking Ranidom if you are allergic to Ranidom or have any history of gastric cancer, liver disease, low magnesium levels, or low vitamin B1.

  1. Domways (Domperidone)

Domways contains Domperidone, a dopamine antagonist that acts as a prokinetic agent. It is prescribed for nausea, vomiting, bloating, and symptoms of delayed gastric emptying. As a standalone formulation, Domways is a reliable option for patients where prokinetic therapy is the primary requirement, without concurrent acid suppression.

Use should be limited to the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration due to cardiac safety considerations

  1. Hepakind (Ursodeoxycholic Acid)

Hepakind contains Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA), which is utilised in the management of primary biliary cholangitis, cholestatic liver disorders, and the dissolution of cholesterol gallstones. UDCA is a bile acid that improves liver function and reduces the toxicity of bile, making Hepakind an important product for hepato-biliary conditions that intersect with digestive health.

Do not take Hepakind if you are allergic to any of its contents or if you have inflammation of the gallbladder and bile ducts, narrowing or blockage of bile ducts, biliary colic, calcified gallstones, improper constriction of the gallbladder, or gastric or duodenal ulcer.

  1. Volapride-Plus (Levosulpiride + Pantoprazole)

Volapride-Plus combines Levosulpiride — a prokinetic agent and antiemetic — with Pantoprazole Sodium Salt. This combination is clinically  effective in managing functional dyspepsia, a condition characterised by persistent upper abdominal discomfort without a clearly defined organic cause. Functional dyspepsia is among the most common GI complaints in primary care settings in India.

Do not take Volapride-Plus Capsule if you are allergic to any of its contents.

Inform your doctor if you have a history of pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal gland), epilepsy, mania, gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, or severe kidney and liver impairment.

  1. Vomikind (Ondansetron) and Emikind (Prochlorperazine)

Nausea and vomiting are frequent gastrointestinal complaints managed within Mankind Pharma’s product range. Vomikind (Ondansetron Hydrochloride) is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist widely used in chemotherapy-induced nausea, post-operative nausea, and gastroenteritis. Emikind (Prochlorperazine Dimaleate) offers an alternative antiemetic mechanism, effective in vertigo-associated nausea and acute nausea of varying aetiologies.

Do not use Vomikind MD 4 Tablet if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.

Avoid using Vomikind MD 4 Tablet if you are taking apomorphine (a medicine used to treat Parkinson’s disease), as it may cause a sharp drop in blood pressure and even fainting.

Do not take Emikind MD Tablet if you are known to be allergic to Emikind MD Tablet . Emikind MD Tablet should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years, as there is an increased risk of adverse effects. Do not take Emikind MD Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it may cause adverse effects in the baby.

  1. Entromax and Gut Ok (Probiotics)

The role of the gut microbiome in digestive health has garnered substantial scientific attention. Mankind Pharma addresses this through two distinct probiotic formulations:

  • Entromax — Contains Bacillus Clausii, a spore-forming probiotic recommended for restoring intestinal flora, particularly following antibiotic therapy or acute diarrhoea
  • Gut Ok — A multi-strain formulation containing Bacillus Coagulans, Bacillus Mesentericus, Clostridium Butyricum, and Enterococcus Faecalis, designed to comprehensively support gut microbiome balance

Do not take Entromax Suspension 5 ml if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you are immunocompromised or suffering from a serious illness.

  • Do not take Gut Ok NF Capsule if you are allergic to any of its components.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a weakened immune system, malnutrition, liver or kidney problems.

  1. Totalax (Lactulose) and Gudlax-Plus

Constipation management is a significant component of digestive care. Totalax (Lactulose), an osmotic laxative, draws water into the colon to soften stools and promote bowel movements. It is indicated in chronic constipation and hepatic encephalopathy. Gudlax-Plus (Magnesium Hydroxide + Paraffin Oil + Picosulfuric Acid Disodium) offers a combination laxative approach for more refractory constipation.

Do not take Gudlax Plus Laxative if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you have/had acute abdominal surgery, intestinal obstruction, or undiagnosed abdominal pain.

Consumer Healthcare Digestive Brands

Beyond its prescription portfolio, Mankind Pharma’s consumer healthcare division offers OTC digestive care products with strong market recognition.

Gas-O-Fast is ranked the second-largest antacid powder brand in India. Formulated with natural Ayurvedic ingredients, it provides fast-acting relief from acidity and indigestion, making it a household name.

Kabz End is a natural Ayurvedic laxative that addresses constipation through herbal formulation, promoting regular bowel function without the dependency risks associated with stimulant laxatives.a
